Avatar Movie Budget Cost vs. Gross Record

The budget for the Avatar movie is estimated to have been over 300 million dollars. The full details of the actual Avatar movie budget cost are not available to the public at this time. The film took over five years to make.

In a little over six weeks it has become the highest grossing motion picture of all time, surpassing Titanic. The gross now stands at 1.8 billion dollars. It is worth mentioning that these figures are not adjusted for inflation. James Cameron directed both Avatar and Titanic.

Merchandise related sales have also been good. One product is a video game release. Some fans were looking forward to this game as much as others were looking forward to John Cena games.

The next movie directed by Cameron that is slated to be released is Battle Angel, which is based around a comic series by Yukito Kishiro.

  1. Does the sales figure including the merchadise? They certainly took on a risk with the movie but in the end, it paid off. I still have yet to see it but I have a feeling when they release the 3D TVs, it will get a bump in sales again.
